Basketball in Colombia

My new basketball shoes arrived today in the mail (thanks Mom and Dad). The basketball team unfortunately continues to frustrate me. We were supposed to have our first game on Sunday at 3:30. After 2 months of practicing 3 times a week, I was pretty excited to finally play a game, and I invited several people who said they wanted to come see me play. 4 family members, 2 English teachers from my school, and 1 of my former students showed up, and, surprise surprise, the coach not only botched the schedule and there was no game, but somehow everybody else on the team knew there was no game except for me and 1 other player. So, I wasted ~2 hours of everybody’s time. Awesome, thanks coach! In addition to the new kicks, you can see the Colombian flag anklet thing I bought for 50 cents in San Gil. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any Buddhist monks in the area to bless it, but I was told that kidnappers look favorably upon gringos who have adopted the Colombian culture.

If genetics continue to play wrt your hair, your ankles should be bare by the time you're 50.
