More Colombian Basketball and Fruits

Colombian basketball hoops usually have a mini-futbol goal underneath them (see photo). This is fine, except that it provides twice as many poles to run into while playing basketball. Did I mention my forearm has a huge bruise?

Also, at practice yesterday we only had 9 guys (usually have ~15), so coach had us play 4 on 5 (why not 3 on 3 and 1 team sit out? I don’t know…). Anyway, 4 vs. 5 is fine, except when you make the losing team do sprints. I would have been much more annoyed if I had been on the team of 4. Poor guys.

Anyway, coach says we have some games coming up soon, which means Universidad Technologico de Santander is one step closer to retiring my jersey #, whatever it turns out to be.

I don’t know why, but I continue to be fascinated by weird looking fruits. Above are two pictures of guanĂ¡bana (the whole thing is HUGE and the edible part is a chewy goo). I didn’t realize it at first, but David and I had juice made from guanĂ¡bana in Vietnam. They called it soursop there. The flavor is extremely sweet and extremely sour at the same time and eating it is like getting punched in the taste buds.
